Summer - The lifts are open in the summer for all alpinist activities and there are many beautiful tracks for walkers, dog walkers and bikers. The mountain tracks are linked via amazing refuges from the head of the valley in Vallorcine, to its end in Servoz. For more information on refuges click here
The town inteslf has a plethora of things to do and discover throughout the non-ski seasons. Its swimming pool is both in and out-doors, Les Planards is open for fairground style entertainments and its famous luge. There are restaurants, cafes, mountain cafes galore. Trails run all around and through its valley, with levels for everyone. Indoor play areas for children and museums for all, cater for the days that the weather is not so good. Ski Lifts – are open summer and Winter. The main lift areas are:
- In Les Houches = Les Houches,
- In Chamonix = Le Brevent and the Aiguille du Midi (off piste only, the Vallee Blanche)
- In Chamonix, Les Praz = La Flégère
- In Argentiere = Les Grands Montets
- In Argentiere, Le Tour
- In Vallorcine = Vallorcine
And further afield. Its less than an hour to Italy, throuh the Mont Blanc tunnel. The Aosta Valley is a deliht as are the cities of Turin and Milan. And either end of the valey, its less than an hour to Switzerland (Geneva, Lausaunne, or Martigny).
And Annecy has the most fantastic old town and lake with something for everyone to enjoy on a day out. Around Lac Leman (Lac Geneva) tere are countless tourist spots, Thonon-Les-Bains, Montreaux and the beautiful botanical gardens to name but three.
